While there are the aggressive party goers who insist on getting a dress, there are also ones like me who would do anything to wear jeans to your wedding dinner.
When it comes to awkward colour blocking like that of a yellow blazer (alternative to a banana boat) and very blue sleeves, I must have missed the memo that you shouldn't pick it up. On the contrary, I'm glad I did.
I once read that if you don't even have two pieces in your wardrobe to match something, don't get it. However, the topic of 'matching' can get rather sensitive especially if it concerns the all-black enthusiasts. Don't start a riot.
Instead, under the circumstances of such subjectivity, the definite answer is to always follow your heart
Or pair it with jeans.
While there are the aggressive party goers who insist on spending the month's allowance on a dress, there are also the ones like me who would do anything to wear jeans to your wedding dinner. I wouldn't call this a revolution, really. The love for denim hasn't changed one bit since Anna Wintour combined couture and jeans on Vogue.
Although my jeans still cannot compare to Le Smoking (enlighten self here), I've learnt to deal with it - if I'd rather the double-breasted fella with good ol' denim, so be it. Along the way, throw in a matching choker and forget to wear something inside. Breathe a little and break a few rules to your heart’s contentment.
Rise to the occasion and go forth to pronounce thee - sometimes, just sometimes, jeans can win just as well.
Lots of love and arm-crossing,
